Crews Hill is much easier to explore when you know where you can stop for coffee, lunch or something more substantial. Food and drink here is spread across garden centres, business clusters and the surrounding lanes rather than concentrated on a conventional high street, so it helps to know what is where before you set off.

This guide reflects the current Welcome to Crews Hill directory information checked in September 2026. Opening times can change, especially for independent businesses and seasonal garden-centre cafés, so please check directly before making a special journey.

Coffee, brunch and lighter stops

  • Café by CoffeeSmiths — at Culver Garden Centre on Cattlegate Road, with food, hot and cold drinks and ice creams.

  • ETTO — inside Thompsons of Crews Hill Garden Centre, serving brunch, light lunches, coffee and drinks during the shopping day.

  • Gardener's Retreat — at Enfield Garden Centre, with breakfast, lunches, afternoon tea and coffee and cake; the garden centre also has a soft-play area for children.

  • Redwood Bistro & Coffee — an independent bistro and coffee stop on Cattlegate Road.

  • The Blueberry Coffee Shop — at Springtime Nurseries, serving hot drinks, light lunches, homemade cakes and refreshments.

  • The Brunch Barn — at the former Wildwoods Water Gardens site on Theobalds Park Road, serving brunch and coffee.

  • The Little Cafe — within Browns Garden Village, a handy stop for breakfast, lunch, hot drinks and refreshments while exploring the businesses on the site.

Pubs and family meals

  • The Robin Hood — on The Ridgeway, a traditional family-focused pub serving food and drinks.

  • Toby Carvery Whitewebbs House — on Whitewebbs Lane, a family-friendly restaurant known for its traditional carvery.

  • The Plough — currently CLOSED for refurbishment. McMullen's says it expects to reopen in late October 2026, so check the official pub page before travelling.

Seasonal closure to know about

Coffee at the Deck at Woldens Garden Centre is currently closed as part of Woldens' summer closure. Woldens' own website says the garden centre and café are due to reopen on 1 October 2026.

Food businesses are part of the working economy too

Crews Hill's food economy is not only cafés and restaurants. The wider directory also includes food importers, wholesalers and specialist suppliers operating from business sites such as Tile Kiln Farm. They are an important part of the working side of Crews Hill, even though they are not necessarily places for a visitor to stop for lunch.

Make food part of a wider Crews Hill visit

A good Crews Hill day rarely needs to be one single destination. You can combine a café with garden centres, independent shops, pet and aquatics businesses, garden buildings, crafts or a countryside walk. Many businesses sit within larger sites, so allowing time to explore often reveals places you would otherwise miss.

Information checked 14 September 2026. If you run one of these businesses and spot something that needs updating, please contact Welcome to Crews Hill so the guide can be corrected quickly.
