Discover the Golden Mile
Crews Hill is far more than a row of garden centres. It is a living, working destination full of family-run businesses, specialist knowledge, practical trades, expert advice and hidden treasures waiting to be found.
Behind the garden centres are businesses within businesses, makers beside merchants, trade suppliers beside cafés, professionals beside retailers, and generations of people who know their craft, know their products and care about giving useful advice.
You can come to Crews Hill for plants, sheds, landscaping supplies, animal care, aquatics, crafts, gifts, furniture, food, a haircut, a cream tea or a hearty meal — and still leave having discovered something you never knew was here.
This is not a retail park, and it is not a high street. It is practical and personal, traditional and evolving, familiar and surprising. A place shaped by nursery heritage, family enterprise, Green Belt countryside and the people who have worked here, traded here and visited here over many years.
All of this sits within a compact and distinctive area, surrounded by countryside, fresh air and beautiful walks, yet still only a stone’s throw from the bustle of London.
We invite you to visit, explore and discover the Golden Mile for yourself.
Crews Hill & the Green Belt
Crews Hill sits within one of Enfield’s most beautiful Green Belt landscapes, surrounded by open countryside, historic parkland, farms, woodland, footpaths, and big skies. A visit does not have to begin and end with the garden centres. Come for Crews Hill, stay for the countryside. Explore local walks and green spaces.
A little about me...
Hello, I’m Emma.
My grandparents were relocated from Islington to Ponders End during the Second World War, making me the third generation of my family rooted in Enfield. With my dad working at Culver Garden Centre before starting our family business, Three Counties, here in 1988, Crews Hill has become my second home — and my happy place. I created "Welcome to Crews Hill" because I wanted to shout from the rooftops about this remarkable place — its history, its businesses, its hard-working community, and its unique character. My hope is that this website helps more people, both local and from further afield, discover Crews Hill, support its independent businesses and maybe, just maybe, end up loving it too.
